Physical Education (PE)

Ravensmere PE Vision Statement

We aim that all Ravensmere pupils will be happy, healthy and caring, with a positive and resilient attitude to learning and life. This is achieved by delivering High quality Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA)

With the support of a broad and balance curriculum we aim to inspire and enable every child to lead a physically active life, be confident physically and emotionally and understand the benefits of competition.

Our PESSPA offer will provide a positive experience for every child to participate in physical activity and sport in order to develop life-long love of sports, competition and being active.  Each child will have a growing understanding of the importance of their positive mental health and the impact it can have on their lives.

We aim to develop a whole child approach to PESSPA looking at all areas of a child’s development, including physical, social, emotional and psychological.

At Ravensmere we understand the benefits that competing in sport and other activities has. It builds character and helps to embed values including fairness, respect, independence, knowledge, resilience, life skills, team work and healthy lifestyles. These values incorporate many of the schools learning powers.

The staff work alongside our children and their families to encourage the understanding and importance of living a health life.  They demonstrate how making healthy choices can improve the children and their family’s well-being.
